NAHS Notes from February 7, 2011 Meeting

Items discussed:

1. Attendance is mandatory to meetings. Students missing two meetings in a row without a valid excuse given to Mrs.Mildonian in advance will be asked to leave the NAHS.

2. Seniors wanting to purchase NAHS Honor Cords ($12) and /or NAHS Tassels ($6) must see Mrs. Mildonian with money by February 25^th. So far the only two orders I have are Lilly Wardell 1 cord and Ariel Lieberman 1 cord.

3. Students must sign up for one of our two service projects. The first being “Beautification of CHS” through birdhouses, stepping stones for courtyards. Project two One-day art project at Jackson Via Elementary, painting planters.

4. Next meeting is March 7^th and Mrs. Mildonian will bring FOOD!:)

Notes from the Seniors' Meeting

We have two big projects that we have decided to devote our time to
for (probably) the rest of the school-year. We will split up into
groups for each project AND YOU MUST SIGN UP FOR ONE. There is going
to be a mandatory meeting for everyone on February 7th (the first
Monday of the month, as usual). The seniors will be discussing getting
tassels for graduation to represent this club and everyone will be
signing up for groups. Remember that if you do not attend two meetings
in a row, you will be kicked out of the group, unless you have a very
important prior commitment, cleared by Mrs. Mildonian. As of now,
there will be a sign-in at each meeting, and I will be posting who
attended and who was excused.
The two projects are:
1) An arts and crafts workshop for elementary schools. There will be
different groups for each school. The workshop will be 1 day long.
2) An art installation at the school of stepping stones and bird
houses/tree sculptures. The stepping stones will mosaics in concrete
made with foil pans and broken bottles from the recycling center. The
bird houses will be made from clay, probably. The idea is to keep the
installation inexpensive, because Mrs. Mildonian donated all of the
supplies for the last project and we really don't want her to do that
again. :)
NAHS, by the way, made $178 from the last fundraiser. Thanks to
everyone who helped out.
